Sydney Lukert attended high school at UNC School of the Arts under the tutelage of Eric Larsen. She holds a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University, where she double-majored in piano performance and pedagogy under Dr. Keiko Sekino and Dr. John O’Brien. Sydney is currently pursuing a master’s degree in music at Salem College under Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink, with a focus in injury preventive keyboard technique. She has attended summer programs at the Brevard Music Center, Eastern Music Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and Music Fest Perugia. Sydney made her concerto debut in Perugia, Italy. She has been teaching piano since 2017. Sydney is passionate about building community through music, and helping students to develop a lifelong love of their art. In her free time, Sydney enjoys playing with her dog, Hazel, and writing songs.
